Homeless in Eureka: An Update

Last week at Eureka City Council, Captain Steve Watson presented the attached Power Point presentation as an update to Council.  Excellent job by Captain Watson and the men and women of EPD as they work hard at showing compassion, yet towing the line of behavioral control in and amongst the homeless population along the Palco Marsh area.

More than 100 homeless persons have been given a list of local resources and signed an accountability form stating they understand that violence, theft, drug trafficking and illegal weapons will cause immediate and permanent removal…after jail.

The next step is to further condense the footprint as we find places for people to stay.
